The greatest debt myth is this: "one can get wealthily through debt". I recently had a old widow whisper in my ear "isn't it great to use OPM, Other People’s Money?" I asked her how much wealth she had accumulated to which she replied, "I don't have any wealth, my husband spent it all!" Actually, I pointed out that it was HER money going into the pockets of wealthy bankers who made her poor and them rich. In economics this is called the transference of wealth. Buying lots of stuff only gives us the illusion of being rich. I find it strange that poor people drive Cadillac’s while rich people drive ordinary cars. It is time to stop pretending and start building wealth with cash instead of debt. Only the debt free will build wealth. There is no other way.
